We offer a variety of self-help books for short-term loan to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê students. Topics include anxiety, depression, relationship problems, study skills, bipolar disorder, trauma and confidence.
It is not necessary for you to register with Student Psychological and CounsellingÌýServices in order to withdraw books.ÌýYou can look through the list of titles and email or telephone us to reserve a copy which you can thenÌýcollect from us, or you may simply come into the service and browse.
Books are free to loan, but you will need to leave a refundable £5 deposit per book you wish to borrow.

How to reserve a book
If you find a bookÌýamongst those listed that you would like to borrow, you can email or telephone to have them put aside until you can collect them. We can also reserve a title for you if the book you want is out, and we will contact you when it is returned.

Loan period
Books can be borrowed for a period of 2 weeks.
Loans can be extendedÌýfor an additional 2 weeks providing no other student has reserved the title. Up to 2 loan extensions are permitted for any single period of borrowing, giving a maximum loan time of 6 weeks. If you wish to extend your loan please contact us using the details above.
Fines for late or non-returns
Overdue books and late renewals are subject to a fine at the rate of £1 per week or part of a week. ÌýFines will be deducted from your £5 deposit.Ìý
How to collectÌýa book
You can collect your book from our offices in Room G2, Ground Floor, 3 Taviton Street. In order to collect your book you must bringÌýwith you:
- A current Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê ID
- Your Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê userid or Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê email address
- A contact telephone number
- A returnable deposit of £5 per book (please have the correct amount ready as we cannot always give change)
Books are available for collection fromÌý10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
