End-of-year event for MSc Urban Studies programme

Night Views

‘Urban night’Ìýwas the theme adopted for the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê GeographyÌýMSc Urban StudiesÌýcourse during 2017/18. This offered a focus for exploring cross-disciplinary themes in teaching and research, as well as a topic of considerable current policy and practitioner interest.

Jordan RoweÌýandÌýMia Rafalowicz-CampbellÌýhelped organiseÌýan end-of-year event in the Bartlett School of Architecture, which allowedÌýthe group to share its work on the London night with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê staff, alumni and external practitioners, as well as to celebrate finishing the course.

The session featured two short presentations, one fromÌýAmy Lamé, about her role as London’s first ‘Night Czar’, and the other byÌýProfessor Matthew BeaumontÌý(Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê English), on the importance of the night in urban literature.ÌýKERBÌýstreet food, founded by two Urban Studies alumni, helped cater the event, with assistance from theÌý
