The next Stadtklang features conversation and jazz music exploring AbdouMaliq Simone鈥檚 new book .
听
To open up the book鈥檚 themes, Simone has selected a collection of tracks from Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, Sun-Ra and others, which gives us a sense of the city as a space of 鈥榰ninhabitation', an 鈥榚nsemble work鈥� whose surging rhythms and modes of improvisation generate a very different idea of urban performance. 听
听
is Senior Professorial Fellow at the Urban Institute at the University of Sheffield. He is an author and urbanist with an abiding interest in the spatial and social compositions of urban regions.
