We offer professional development support to all staff who teach and support learning. Here are some ways we can help you and your education practices.

1. Contact your faculty’s designated HEDS partnership team

Each Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Faculty has a team who are happy to help you with practical teaching approaches, assessment, personal academic tutoring and embedding employability in your teaching. ÌýÌý

2. Explore our extensive events programme

Book onto one of our events or workshops where we share best practice in teaching and learning and discuss ideas and challenges with colleagues. Ìý

Ìý3. Gain professional recognition with an Arena and AdvanceHE Fellowship

If you teach or support students’ learning at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê or lead an area of education, work with us to achieve recognition.ÌýÌýÌý

5. Work in partnership with your students

Work in collaboration with your students to enhance the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê learning experience through a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê ChangeMaker project or through the Laidlaw Fellowship Programme (for first year undergraduate students).ÌýÌý

6. Get a students’ perspective on your teachingÌýÌý

Through Student Reviewers of Teaching you are paired with two students to build a reflective dialogue about your teaching practice and the learning experience of students on the course. This fulfils the peer-dialogue requirement.ÌýÌýÌý

You tell us your requirements; we will match you with a student. You can throughout the year.ÌýÌýÌý

7. Get support to give or receive feedback on teachingÌýÌý

Every member of staff with significant teaching responsibilities needs to engage with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê’s Peer Dialogue scheme at least once a year.ÌýÌý

Regular conversations about your teaching with colleagues is one of the best ways to enhance your work as an educator.Ìý

Peer dialogue can help you to understand best practice, support your colleagues, and gather evidence about the quality of your teaching.ÌýÌý
