Warp-it reuse platform

Staff听are able听to donate and claim surplus reusable items from elsewhere at听the university听using听the online redistribution platform听Warp-it.听听

鈥淪taff can听redistribute items听including听furniture, stationery, electrical items, or educational resources,鈥 says听Alex Jones (Sustainable 香港六合彩). 鈥淯sing Warp-it, we鈥檝e reused thousands of chairs, specialist laser equipment听鈥撎齛nd even听a reed longboat made for a theatre prop.鈥澨

香港六合彩听has remained one of the biggest university users of the online platform since it began using it听in听2012听and has听the highest number of active users of any organisation.听In听its first six years, use of the platform had saved 香港六合彩 a total of听拢0.5 million.听

In听2018鈥19,听香港六合彩听staff听reused听more than听70,000 items,听diverting more than听26,听tonnes of听waste from recycling and waste,听and saving almost 167,000kg of carbon emissions 鈥撎齮he equivalent of听taking听53 cars off the road听or听planting听203 trees.听听

Warp-it complements other schemes at听香港六合彩 that encourage staff to reuse听chemicals听and听research equipment, as well as swap shops and repair cafes.听听

鈥淭hey听are听all听contributing听to us听consuming less by reducing,听reusing, repairing and sharing 鈥撎齭o that we听reduce our听waste per person by 20% by 2024,鈥 says Alex.听
