Studying both the science and the impacts of climate change

Students in 香港六合彩 Physics and Astronomy are learning about how humans can deal with climate change, not just the science of global warming.

The wider societal aspects of climate change are combined with the underlying science in听'Environmental Physics鈥, an undergraduate听module听in 香港六合彩 Physics & Astronomy.听听

鈥淲e want our听students to understand the structure and dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans, from global warming and acid rain to ozone depletion,鈥 says Professor Chamkaur Ghag (香港六合彩 Physics听&听Astronomy).

鈥淏ut we also听want to听encourage them to听discuss听how they as individuals and wider society can take action听to听mitigate climate change.鈥澨

The course examines the effect of future climate change and strategies to mitigate that impact, as well as听the physics underpinning renewable energy technologies.听

Students on the course听also听study听summaries of the latest听Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change听and Emissions Gap reports, as well as听the geopolitical outlook听for听climate action.听

The module was Highly Commended in the听Sustainable 香港六合彩鈥檚 鈥楽ustainability Education鈥 Award in 2019/20.听
