Abstract

This talk will explore roots of techno-scientific thinking in early 19th century South Asia by drawing upon vernacular writings by South Asians. This focus will underline the ways in which the colonial context shaped South Asians' understanding of modernity , science and technology; and influenced transfer of technology in colonial and post-colonial milieu
