STEaPP MPA candidates lead workshop on learning through the COVID-19 pandemic

MPA Candidates Anisha Gooneratne and Fernando Garcia Albero, in collaboration with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Global Governance Institute, are leading the first-ever global health policy platform focused on student perspectives of learning through a pandemic on Wednesday 7 July 2021.
The workshop will give undergraduate and postgraduate students the opportunity to share how they have navigated living and studying during the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference, held on Wednesday 7 July 2021, will cover a number of key themes affecting the experiences of young people, including the digital divide and vaccination status. Each session will begin with an expert panel discussion before opening the conversation so participants can share the challenges faced by themselves and their communities during the pandemic.

10:00 - 10:10 (BST): Welcome Remarks and Convenors’ Introduction
10:10 - 11:10 (BST):Â Session I: Digital Divide
This session will focus on understanding the severity and impacts of the digital divide on higher education provision and associated factors.
11:10 - 11:30 (BST):Â Break / Informal Discussion Time
11:30 - 12:30 (BST):Â Session II: Vaccination Status
This session will reflect on how vaccination status can impact access to in-person learning, the diversity of the student body and access to essential learning and teaching resources.
