Apply for paternity/partner's leave

This guide is for any employee who is the partner ofÌýsomeone who is pregnant orÌýsomeone who is the intended primary adopter of a child.

Before you start

Please refer to the policy for full details of paternity/partner's leave entitlement and eligibility.

There are two things you need to do to apply for paternity/partner's leave:Ìý

  1. notify your manager, preferably in writing, andÌý

PLEASE NOTE:ÌýYou have 28 days to provide HR Services with confirmation of your Paternity/Partner's leave dates, via the Parternity/Partner's leave form, but you must inform your line manger of your eligibility/intention to take Paternity/Partner's leave, by the end of the 15th week before the expected week of childbirthÌý

To begin your application for Paternity/Partner'sÌýleave you will need to know the following information:

  • Your employee number,
  • Department orÌýFaculty/Division
  • confirmation of when you intend to take paternity leave.

2. Form goes to your Line manager/PI
3. Form goes to HR Services
