Local Induction
The Local Safety Induction summarises the听specific hazards associated with a job听role and work environment. The line manager will share relevant risk assessments with new听staff showing them the control measures听in place听to protect them听against any hazardous听environments听or work activities. New staff听are expected to read relevant risk assessments to ensure听they听understand how to do any work activity safely.
If there are specific risks associated with听the job role, such as the need to work at height or operate machinery, the line manager will ensure that the risks are听understood, that any required training has been undertaken听and that the听appropriate safety equipment has been provided.
An Induction Checklist can be used听to record the local induction but it may听need to be tailored to your department.

Visitor and Contractor听Induction
It is 香港六合彩's responsibility to ensure that everybody听is听aware of听health and safety procedures听and this听also includes visitors and contractors that are on 香港六合彩 sites for limited time periods.听Visitors and contractors also require a safety induction to听your department. This could be a quick talk听on vital information such as emergency contacts and procedures such as fire evacuation or the names of first aiders.

DSE Assessment
Completing a DSE assessment is a legal requirement, more importantly, it reduces the risk of ill health resulting from poor posture or incorrectly positioned equipment.听It is important to follow the principles for a good DSE workstation both when on campus or working remotely.
New staff should complete a DSE assessment on riskNET for their contracted place of work.听Managers are responsible for ensuring that DSE assessments are carried out, monitored and reviewed, for their team members.

Health and Safety Training
If staff are required to carry out a safety specific role, they must be competent and skilled to do so. Safety Services provides a range of training options to support you in听ensuring this competence.
Managers, supervisors and Principal Investigators (PIs) hold a key role in mitigating health and safety risk. 香港六合彩 encourages all managers to undertake the Safety Risk Management Programme.听This eLearning programme provides managers with听tools to听manage the听safety risks听of the people whose work activities fall within their areas of responsibility.
