UKRI responsive mode calls

UKRI has now opened someÌýresponsive mode calls on its newÌýFunding Service portal, with several Research Councils scheduling the Round 1 deadline for calls in September 2023.

To help us identify the level of interest in these calls from across the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê academic communityÌýwe have prepared a brief survey aimed at potential applicants for UKRI funding.ÌýThis will help us to understand where and how we can target ourÌýsupport most effectively.

If you are consideringÌýapplying for UKRI funding in the near futureÌýand are eligible to apply as a principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator,Ìýwe would encourage you to participate in this survey.

What do I need to do?

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê departments and PIs will need to ensure they check which funding portal should be used as this will vary depending on the funding call and Research Council.ÌýUKRI has also advised that new user accounts will need to be created for the new portal.

To find out which system you should use for your application, please refer to the 'How to Apply' section of the funding call page for instructions. The ‘Start Application’ button on the call page will also direct you to Je-S or to the new Funding Service portal, depending on the system being used.

For calls being run through the new Funding Service portal, begin your application by clicking on the ‘Start Application’ button on the call page. This will allow you to create an account on the portal if you have not already done so. For other users, e.g., departmental support staff, UKRI has advised that a generic sign-up page for the new platform will be available soon.

Je-S will be phased out at the end of 2023, while some research councils will still use the platform to manage submissions. Specific information on transition plans for each research council and the associated changes to their responsive mode funding opportunities is available on the UKRI website.
