Problem: Government departments in South Africa have an interest in improving their policy decisions through consideration of relevant evidence, but there is little understanding of how best to achieve this

Project:ÌýExploring ways to embed the co-production of evidence synthesis with Government departments in their policy development

Impacts and Outputs


The project resulted in a 124-page draft Departmental Guidance Note for the DPME, as well as aÌýshort film chronicling the work of the project.

The project leads have also subsequently been contacted by a number of other government departments in South Africa with requests for further co-production of evidence synthesis, and presented at an Evidence Indaba hosted by the Department of Environmental Affairs.
