Dr Ruxandra Serban
Biography
I joined Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê in September 2023 as Associate Lecturer in Democratic and Authoritarian Politics. I am also Deputy Director of the MSc Democracy and Comparative Politics. Prior to that, I was an LSE Fellow in the Department of Methodology at the LSE, where I taught on a range of research design and research methods modules. I gained my PhD in Political Science from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê in 2020.
Research
My research focuses on British and comparative politics. I am interested in developing creative mixed-methods research designs to explore questions related to democratic accountability processes and procedures, particularly in connection to parliaments. My PhD investigated parliamentary mechanisms through which prime ministers are questioned across 31 democracies, placing the UK’s PMQs in a comparative context for the first time.Ìý
