Dr Roland Kappe
Biography
I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Political Science, as well as in theÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÌýDepartment of European Social and Political Studies. Before joining Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, IÌýobtained myÌýPhD in political science at Stony Brook University,ÌýNew York. A native of Paderborn, Germany, IÌýstudied Politics and Administration at the University of KonstanzÌýand the University of Pavia,ÌýItaly, and worked for theÌýOrganisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.
Research
My research interests cover several substantive fields, including political economy, comparative politics, public opinion and elections, as well as education and social policy. To answer questions in these fields, I useÌýquantitative methods, with a special focus on time series analysis and methods for causal inference using observational data.
