Find out about the experiences of one of our current undergraduate students, Maria Avramidou.
Although Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê is a diverse university located in one of the largest cities worldwide, the amazing support network alongside the welcoming and inclusive environment makes you feel like home. The Transition Mentor scheme ensures that all students will have a smooth university transition and settlement. As both a mentee and mentor myself, I was able to help and be helped to not only adapt to the course and student life but also make the most out of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Physics Society organizes social events such as boat parties, balls, pub-crawls, and karaoke nights, as well as career and academic events, including talks by high-profile researchers around the globe. The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Space Society brings together the different aspects of space (science, technology, business, philosophy, and humanity) organizing debates and academic talks from all five areas. Both societies constitute a great opportunity to connect with people with same interests.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Phys Film Makers focuses on interviewing researchers and explaining science, aiming at raising awareness to a broader audience. It is a great initiative for anyone interested in improving their skills and doing independent research.
Being part of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê is a unique experience which I would gladly recommend to any aspiring female physicist who wishes for the best quality of education and a fantastic social life adventure allowing you to expand your horizons and create relationships that will last!
