Ancient Philosophy in London

London is a thriving centre for ancient philosophy. Here at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê we host The Keeling Lecture and associated Graduate Masterclass (annually) and  (every 3-5 years), regularly run smaller workshops, and every two years or so participate in or host LOXY (the London-Oxford-Yale ancient philosophy conference). The (currently Professor Sarah Broadie) generally runs a graduate-only seminar on a topic in ancient philosophy over one term, and every week staff and students attend the , co-convened with KCL. Each term together with KCL we organise the Triangle Ancient Philosophy Graduate Seminar with academics at Oxford and Cambridge, in which a small group of students and staff discuss recent work presented by advanced research students. Graduate students at the Keeling Centre also coordinate, with students at KCL, the Lyceum Society, a London-wide research group in for students in ancient philosophy, and occasionally host a Keeling Graduate Conference in Ancient Philosophy.

The Institute of Classical Studies hosts on a different theme each year, organised by academics from London working in ancient philosophy (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, KCL, Royal Holloway, Birkbeck, University of London). Also affiliated with the Institute of Classical Studies is the , which is run by staff from Birkbeck, KCL, Royal Holloway and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê.Â
