ChAPTRe is aÌýnewÌýresearch unit, co-directed by Dr Nick Midgley and Prof Pasco Fearon, both from the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology. It has been developed in 2016 in partnership between the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (AFNCCF) and University College London (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê).

The mission of the research unit isÌýto develop and promote research related to children and young people's mental health and emotional well-being. A particular focus is on understanding children's development (especially in relation to attachment and mentalization) and both evaluating and reaching a better understanding of psychological therapies for children and young people.

The group within ChAPTRe has expertise in attachment and mentalization, and experience of conducting clinical evaluation and process research for interventions in early years, middle childhoodÌýand adolescence.

ChAPTRe is involved in a number of on-going research studies, and also offers trainings and consultations to those working in this field. We also have limited opportunities to offer academic supervision to high-quality PhD students who wish to study at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê.
