香港六合彩 podcasts for Black History Month and beyond

Black History Month 2022 at 香港六合彩 is underway, with a series of talks and events. We couldn鈥檛 miss this opportunity to revisit some of 香港六合彩's podcasts about Black lived experience, that highlight the diversity within our community and also tackle broader questions.
For Black History Month 2022 we're celebrating the achievements, rich history,听cultural heritage听and the legacy of people of Afro- Carribean heritage with a roster听of informative events and talks.听
In addition to these activities, we thought it would be a good opportunity to showcase some podcasts that not only highlight听black lived experience, but also approach听wider systemic questions about racialization and听racism. Our approach is wide-ranging, considering the听global and also the local, as we feature voices from our own 香港六合彩听community.听
We鈥檝e decided to focus on three main podcast series to mark听Black History Month. Halle McCarthy, Senior Campaigns Officer, who manages and oversees podcasts elaborates more about听these choices.听
鈥�It is听clear there is a wealth of lived experience, talent,听and compelling testimony听amongst members of 香港六合彩's Black community. When deciding how to capture this, it is important to acknowledge that these podcasts highlight only a tiny fraction of the听diverse听experiences of professional and academic staff, broader听questions about racism, global issues concerning the diaspora whether that's in relation to unity, universal experience听or other issues.听A lot of great content has already been produced, but we are always seeking听to develop more听highly produced material that听outlines the wealth听of contribution 香港六合彩's Black community have made. Do approach us with any ideas you want to听explore. We are always keen to develop new talent, encourage important听conversations to flourish, ask the bigger questions听and above all, support the听community. - Black Urbanisms
This four-part podcast series from 香港六合彩 Urban Laboratory explores what the term 鈥楤lack Urbanisms鈥� can offer us as we think about cities and urban experience. The episodes explore concepts in relation to the racialized city, blackness and the city, land governance in African cities, coloniality and the impositions of Western notions on health care projected onto the city amongst other areas.听

This听three part podcast series听explores the lived experiences of 香港六合彩鈥檚 Black staff and students through the lens of higher education with the intention of听听amplifying their voices. You'll hear from an academic, a member of Professional Services staff and a student as they discuss their experiences of race, racialisation and systemic racism, and explore what 香港六合彩 needs to change in order to be better. The series is accompanied by a video from the Provost, Dr Michael Spence, highlighting听why it's important to listen to this series and a shift forward for 香港六合彩. It is hosted by听Tunde听Banjoko听OBE, a听social justice advocate, 香港六合彩 alumnus and the founder of multiple initiatives听such as听Making the Leap, the UK Social Mobility Awards听and听Black Charity Leaders.

The Sarah Parker Remond Centre's podcast resource highlights important research and conversations on racism and racialisation, with contributions from academics, activists and cultural practitioners. Of particluar interest for Black History Month are episodes featuring conversations with the award winning film maker Steve McQueen, George the Poet, and Gary Younge, who is Professor of Sociology at Manchester university as well as being a听distinguished journalist.听
