LGBTQ+ rainbow flag flying at half-mast

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's LGBTQ+ rainbow flag has been flying at half-mast above the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê portico as a gesture of condolence and solidarity with those affected by mass shooting in Pulse, the LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando.
Professor Michael Arthur, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê President & Provost, said: "We are deeply shocked by the massacre in Orlando. On behalf of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, I would like to extend our condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured.
"Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê is a truly global university, with staff and students from hundreds of countries across the world. Our thoughts are with all LGBTQ+ people who have endured violence and persecution.
"All of us, irrespective of our faith or sexuality, must re-double our efforts to promote understanding between communities and tolerance over hate."
