Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê will soon be required to automatically enter employees who meet certain age and pay levels, and who are currently not paying into a pension scheme, into one of the official Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê schemes (USS or SAUL).

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê will be implementing AE from 1 June 2013. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê already meets most of the statutory requirements of AE by the automatic admission of full or part time staff, into USS or SAUL. However, in addition from 1 June 2013, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê will automatically enrol as-and-when contractees and casual staff into SAUL or USS.

In addition, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê will monitor on an ongoing monthly basis, those staff who currently do not meet the age and pay requirements, but who may do so in future pay periods.

All Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê staff will receive an e-mail and / or letter in early June informing them how AE impacts on them, though for most of us, it will not have any material affect.

If staff wish to opt out of a pension scheme, this can be done after 1st June 2013, and details of this process will be detailed in the communication.
