As well as news from around Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, this week we get some thoughts and reactions to the US presidential election results from Professor Iwan Morgan (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Institute of the Americas) and students from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊU American Society. We also pay a visit to the recently reopened Rock Room, which houses Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's geology collection.
Part 1 - News
This week we report on the latest Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Stratford developments following a London Borough of Newham (LBN) Cabinet meeting. There's also news of how to get involved in Global Entrepreneurship week next week through some events run by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Advances. Finally, we look further afield to China, where new research from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Institute of Archaeology has revealed secrets about how the Terracotta Army was made more than 200 years ago.
Part 2 - US election reaction
Professor Iwan Morgan (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Institute of the Americas) reacts to Barack Obama's victory in the US Election and explores the strength of the Democrat's campaign. We also hear reactions from Beatrice Kelly, one of the Presidents of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊU American Society, who describes her experience of the election, which she watched from one of the Union's bars.
Part 3 - Rock Room
The Rock Room, on the 1st Floor of the Wilkins Building, houses Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's geology collection. We spoke to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê teaching collections curator Nick Booth about revamping the collection, its history and some of the collection's most impressive objects.
