200 alumni return for reunion

Over 200 alumni returned to their old stomping grounds at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê for a reunion on Saturday 25 April.
Graduates from 1959 through to 2004 engaged in a range of activities, including a tour of their old departments, a special gala anniversary lunch, academic lectures and a student gala performance.
Alumni were welcomed back to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê by Vice-Provost Professor David Price at the South Cloisters, where he outlined some of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's many recent achievements, including the university's rise to 7th in the THE-QS World University Rankings.
The lectures included: 'Looking for the roots of the global economic crisis' - Professor Wendy Carlin (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Economics); 'Venomous Women: Poison Murderesses in Nineteenth-Century Germany' - Professor Susanne Kord (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÌý German); 'The Irony Curtain: Humour in Communist Russia and Beyond' - Dr Seth Graham (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê School of Slavonic and East European Studies); 'Human Rights Inflation: A Turn For The Worse?' - Dr George Letsas (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws).
Graduates from Engineering, The Built Environment and Mathematical & Physical Sciences will hold their reunion on Saturday 4 July.
