For families looking for something different to try during the autumn half-term week, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Museums & Collections have some inspiring events on offer.

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Grant Museum is running a five-day event on 'Monkeys, Moose and Millipedes', which runs from Mon 27-Fri 31 Oct 2008, 1-5 pm in the museum.

From jungle to underwater kelp forests, and cool rainforests to Arctic woodlands, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Grant Museum invites families and discover the amazing creatures that live among the roots, branches and leaves with our exciting specimen-based activities. What dwells in 70m tall seaweed or dangles 100m in the air? Which animals rummage through rotting leaves or have feet that never touch the ground? Discover tigers, tortoises and toucans in fun hands-on games for half-term.

On 29 October at 2-4pm, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Art Collections will be hosting a fun family drawing and collage workshop. Entitled 'Strike a Pose' this portrait workshop will give participants the chance to pose as an 18th century celebrity, drape themselves in neo-classical style and be pictured within a set.

Finally, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology is hosting 
a half-term family workshop on pot moulding, from 2-4 pm on 30th October. Participants will have a chance to explore the funky designs of ancient Egypt and make their own pot in the 
style of the time of Tutankhamun.
