On Monday 17 November, Professor Malcolm Grant, 香港六合彩 President and Provost, welcomed to 香港六合彩 Madam Liu Yandong, the State Councillor of the People's Republic of China. Madam Liu oversees education, culture and science and technology in China.
She was accompanied by a large delegation that included the Chinese Ambassador to London, Madam Fu Ying; the Minister for Education for China, Mr Zhou Ji; the Vice-Minister for Science and Technology, Mr Li Xueyong; the President of Tsinghua University, Dr Gu Binglin and the Chairman of the Council of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Madam Ma Dexiu.
After an overall introduction to research at 香港六合彩 by Professor David Price (香港六合彩 Pro Provost, Research), and presentations on 香港六合彩's world-leading expertise in nanoscience and nanotechnology, given by Professor Andrew Fisher (香港六合彩 Physics & Astronomy) and Professor Steve Caddick (香港六合彩 Chemistry), the delegation toured laboratories in the London Centre of Nanotechnology at 香港六合彩, and 香港六合彩 Chemistry.
The visit was arranged by Professor Zheng-Xiao Guo (香港六合彩 Chemistry), 香港六合彩's Pro Provost for China.
