Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê scoops top prizes at Royal Society of Chemistry Awards

  • Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Chemistry has just won four medals at the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Awards for pioneering work across the field.

    Professor Richard Catlow was awarded the 2008 Liversidge Lectureship for his work on computational techniques in materials chemistry, Dr Katherine Holt won the Harrison Medal and Prize for her research into cellular-level electrochemistry, Dr Ben Slater took the Barrer Award for his application of computer modeling in microporous materials and Dr Stefan Willitsch netted the Marlow Medal and Prize for his study on molecular reactions at near-absolute zero.

    Professor Catlow is also Dean of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Maths & Physical Sciences. He said: "These awards are a very good indication of the vitality of the Department.

    "It's also very pleasing to see others recognise that we have very good staff at both the junior and senior levels within Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Chemistry."
