A 40-year alumni reunion took place on 27 October 2007, with 130 alumni who left Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê in 1966, 1967 and 1968 attending the day to celebrate 40 years since their graduation.
The event comprised a drinks reception, a three-course lunch, a choice of activities in the afternoon and a champagne reception. After lunch, Art Wasserman, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's Director of Development & Corporate Communications, introduced speeches by Jane Fenoulhet, Executive Dean of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Arts & Humanities, and Michael White (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê History 1966), Assistant Editor of 'The Guardian'.
Jane spoke about recent developments at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and drew comparisons with the size of the institution back in the 1960s. Michael then gave a highly entertaining speech recalling memories about student days at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê in the 1960s.
In the afternoon alumni had the opportunity to visit the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology and attend a talk on 'The Cinema in the '60s' by Dr Melvyn Stokes of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê History. The day concluded with drinks in the Flaxman Gallery, where alumni met with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant.
