Libyan Higher Education Committee visits Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê

A delegation from the General People's Committee for Higher Education of Libya visited Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê last week to discuss quality assurance issues and the potential for collaboration.

The delegation of senior officials was led by Dr Fauzi S Elabed, Director of International Cooperation. It included Dr Suleiman Mahmoud Khoja (Director of the Higher Education Private Sector); Dr Mohamed Mahmud Ben Ahmedia (President of the 7th October University); Dr Attia E A Elfeituri (President of Garyounis University); Dr Idris H Mabruk Elabedi (Manager of the Libyan Centre for Quality Assurance in Higher Education); and Adel Ali Sennosi and Hamad Ahmed Abdelwahed Saleh, both of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Julia Abbott, Senior Executive Officer (Academic and International) welcomed the visitors, before a meeting chaired by Professor Vince Emery (Pro-Provost for South Asia and the Middle East), which also involved Jason Clarke, Deputy Director of Academic Services and Everard Whitehouse of the British Council.
Afterwards the delegation was given a tour of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Main Library by Matthew Reynolds and introduced to the figure of Jeremy Bentham.
The meeting was part of a four-day visit to London organised by the British Council.
