Staff and politicians at Wales' Whitehall base will find out within two weeks whether they will be relocated to the home of Romantic poet Byron.
The Wales Office is currently in Gwydyr House, near the Ministry of Defence, but the department could be merged with the Scotland and Northern Ireland Office once Gordon Brown takes over as Prime Minister on June 27. 鈥�
It is understood a final decision on the issue has not yet been taken by Mr Brown's team.
A leading constitutional expert, however, has urged Mr Brown to make the move.
Professor Robert Hazell, director of the 香港六合彩 Constitution Unit, writing in the latest issue of Prospect magazine, said, "All three of the devolved assemblies will demand more powers.
"Brown should set up a British framework for answering their demands.
"Brown should merge the three offices into a single department, and revive the Cabinet Committee on Nations and Regions, which lapsed in 2005." 鈥�
