Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê

Professor Lin Jianhua, Executive Vice-President for Academic & International Relations at Peking University, was accompanied by his colleagues Mr Xiao Qun, Deputy Director, Office of Humanities & Social Sciences and Dr Ruqing Zheng, Assistant Director, Office of International Relations.

The delegation held wide-ranging discussions with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê staff actively involved in existing links with Peking University, including Professor David Norse, who has been instrumental in furthering the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê/Peking collaboration to date in his capacity as Pro-Provost for China Hong Kong and Macao. Professor Moira Yip, who succeeds Professor David Norse as Pro-Provost for China, Hong Kong and Macao this week, also took part in discussions.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê has established projects with Peking University in the areas of Laws, Archaeology and Medicine. The International Centre for Chinese Heritage & Archaeology, which is managed jointly by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and Peking University, is a particularly significant area of the collaboration.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê academics and their guests discussed the advancement of the long-standing relationship between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Laws and the Peking Law School. Professor John Martin of the Centre for Cardiovascular Biology & Medicine is to lead at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê on a joint research initiative in cardiovascular medicine. It is also hoped that a new collaboration in chemistry will be developed.
