Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê

On Saturday, there will be a discovery roomÌýwhere collections and staff from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Grant Museum, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Institute of Archaeology and, of course, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Geology will be there with rock and fossil-related activities including casting fossils, racing trilobites and making dioramas from different geological eras. There will also be a large display of microfossils and microscopes, with experts on hand.

In the cloisters there will be geological exhibitions and stalls from groups around the country featuring minerals, fossils, equipment, rare books and maps.

From 11.30am there will be a series of public lectures on exciting subjects including 'The Geology of Fireworks' to 'Dinosaur Evolution on a Dynamic Earth'.

Try the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Petrie Museum's rock trail, or see planetary images from the NASA archive at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, the famous Greenough Map in the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Art Collection, and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Geology Collection's current exhibition 'Infinite Possibilities' in the Rock Room.

Competitions and refreshments will also be on offer, and the event is free.

On Sunday 5 November, the festival 'Rocks around Bloomsbury' with a guided tour from Dr Eric Robinson (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Earth Sciences) and Dr Wendy Kirk (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Earth Sciences)Ìýwill guide a tour round the 'Geology of St Pancras Gardens'

Another walk, guided by Dr Graham Williams will also take place in the Surrey hills.
