Registrations invited for the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Entrepreneurs' Challenge

22 January 2004

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's second Entrepreneurs' Challenge is approaching, and staff and students are invited to register for the competition and attend workshops on fundamental business concepts.

Led by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Ventures, the series of workshops is supported by a business plan competition, which offers entrants the chance to win £10,000 and the opportunity to learn vital business skills. The challenge is supported by the Provost of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê, the Centre for Scientific Enterprise - a joint venture between Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê and London Business School - venture capital groups, legal firms and technology companies, all of which will be represented in the workshops and the judging panel.

Mr Tim Barnes, coordinator of the challenge, said: "Participants do not need to have a business idea in order to join. Most entries will be team-based, and there will be a chance to form teams once the competition is underway. All entrants will be offered coaching and mentor support in putting their ideas together."

Workshop topics will include how to spot a good idea, intellectual property and finding funding.
