Bentham goes common
23 October 2003
A new common room for all staff and students has opened in the old Upper Refectory, under the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê dome, next to the Wilkins Library.
Named the 'JBR' - the Jeremy Bentham Room - as the result of a 'name game' commissioned by the Graduate School, the room is intended as a place for the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê community to relax, meet and work in comfortable surroundings.
The room was the brainchild of Professor Leslie Aiello, Head of the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Graduate School. She said: "I'm very pleased to see the hard work come to fruition. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê's Estates & Facilities Division have done an excellent job, and carried out the refurbishment to a very high standard."
