Aleksandra Glowska presented at the ACS Spring Meeting 2021

19 April 2021

ACS Spring 2021

Aleksandra Glowska, joint PhD student with , presented her work on "Multi-technique characterisation of hierarchically organised gamma-alumina catalyst supports" last week at the at the session on Well-Defined Materials for Heterogeneous Catalysis: Synthesis, Characterization, and Performance Studies鈥. The session was organised by the .

With our collaborators at聽IFPEN, Aleksandra has shown that a multi-technique characterisation approach is crucial for unravelling the link between the porous structure of catalysts and their diffusional聽 properties, and therefore, essential to guide new catalyst designs. The multi-technique methodology comprising advanced image processing techniques allowed to characterise and quantify the spatial heterogeneity of gamma-alumina and highlight the non-negligible impact of alumina grain surface barriers on diffusional tortuosity.
