  1. Use of Russian (Year 2) (SERS0022)

Description

Only for affiliate students at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê in Term 1 only.The starting level is the equivalent of A-level (Bac, Abitur).

Students will normally take both Use of Russian (Year 2) (Grammar, Writing, Oral) and Comprehension of Russian (Year 2) (Russian-English Translation, Aural Comprehension), together, which form an integrated programme. The two modules build on the thorough base in Russian achieved previously through further study at upper intermediate level and leading towards a more advanced level of Russian.

Aims: To develop students' command of Russian at an upper intermediate level and leading towards a more advanced level. To develop productive skills of writing and speaking. To consolidate and further develop a knowledge of grammar and syntax, lexis, register and style, as well as language awareness and language learning skills. To acquaint students with a wide range of authentic language materials, to develop skills of working with texts, and to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of Russian life and culture through the materials studied.
