Description
Aims: The modern world is truly interconnected and most social and economic challenges do not stay within national boundaries but are global. This module will provide a largely non-technical introduction to the basic concepts and methods used by economists to understand and explain the features of the world economy today.
Suitable for: Students taking ECON0002 concurrently and 1st year Economics and Statistics (LG13) students.
Prerequisites: No previous knowledge of economics is necessary.
Assumed knowledge: We assume students coming into the course are interested in the following: globalisation of trade and finance; the emergence of global value chains and the rise of China and India; winners and losers of globalisation within rich and developing economies.
