Description

This module provides an overview of the theoretical and practical resources to understand how technology and innovation can help solve sustainability problems that are temporally and spatially complex, and impact business transitions to sustainability.ÌýYou will be introduced to theories that will allow you to better understand theÌýinnovation and technology ecosystem.ÌýYou will develop a rigorous conceptual understanding of emerging models of sustainable innovation (e.g., social, frugal) along with the practical challenges of managing these approaches to fulfill business growth and enhance environmental performance or alleviate social issues.ÌýYou will also be introduced to technologies associated with improving business processes (e.g., Big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, Internet of Things) and learn about their promise and drawbacks for sustainability.ÌýÌý

The module covers topics with reference to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Climate Action (SDG 13).
