Description

Teaching delivery:
The module is taught online in the Autumn, Spring, and Summer term in the 2024-25 academic year. Over the course of ten weeks students will independently engage online with a variety of challenging ideas, activities, and readings. These set activities are designed each week to create opportunities for personal reflection, and contexts for online discussions with peers and tutors.

Indicative topics:
The module provides opportunities for students to critically engage with ten currently relevant topics which include, for example, exploring the effect of personal beliefs and agency, the value of assessment and appropriate feedback, the demands of reflective practice, and the possibilities inherent in transformational learning environments.

Module Aims and / or Objectives:
The module aims to challenge and support participants to critically engage with and apply module readings and activities that relate to the theory and practice of learning and learners in a variety of contexts. The aim is to enable reflection on participants’ own practice and beliefs, and reform future policy and practice. The module therefore focuses critical lenses on topics that influence learners and learning, and informs and challenges in ways that will hopefully foster critical analysis, influence decisions about change, and drive future practice in a wide range of contexts.
