Description

Aims

By engaging successfully with this module you will develop classroom teaching competencies in relation to planning, teaching and assessment of Computing. You will develop an understanding of the nature and purpose of the Computing curriculum and how it can be delivered successfully to pupils 11 to 18.


Outcomes


You will:

Through university study and school-based practice you will learn to plan and deliver effective lessons. You will engage in curriculum planning at a variety of levels and apply your theoretical understanding of assessment, class management and differentiation to practical teaching in the classroom. You will work collaboratively with tutors and mentors and progress towards the degree of professional competence and independence required to begin the NQT year. In this module you will undertake a written assignment relating to ‘The pedagogy of programming’.
