Description

This module aims encourage independent research skills by requiring students to a research project with a programming component. At the end of the project, the student is required to submit a detailed project report, written in the same style as a scientific paper, to submit for marking a copy of their program and to give a 20-minute presentation of their results. Each student has a project supervisor, who should be skilled in the chosen research topic, and whose task it is to define a project whose goals are capable of being achieved within the time available. The supervisor will advise the student on suitable programming and other techniques that are needed for the research project.
