Description

This module is intended to allow students to plan and carry out a substantial research based project, which could be inspired by their professional experience. Students will apply and refine the skills and knowledge developed through the Research & Statistics and other theoretical modules of the programme. Students will develop research design, data collection and analysis and critical interpretation skills, aiming at investigating a particular topic and being able to apply the knowledge gained and outcomes of their workplace.

Students will be able to synthesise and present their learning across the course of study, progress to the final assessment under supervision and varied on-line support, (videos and research writing e-learning).

Extra support for students who need English and/or Math assistance prior and during this module will be available. An optional e-learning module on research writing and using statistics will be available for students who need this extra support.

No additional subject content is introduced within the module. The students’ independent research in a library based project will be the focus of this project, building on the year 2 Research and Statistics module.
