Description

The module will provide the student with knowledge and understanding of the methods and processes which comprise medical research from bench to bedside. This will include consideration of the scientific literature, the importance of critical reading, the requirement for good experimental design, the importance of research integrity and governance, and the practice of good communication. It will also cover the processes of drug discovery, knowledge transfer and scientific enterprise. Consideration of these topics will improve understanding of research translation and demonstrate how medical research returns value in terms of health and economic gain.
