This module considers methods of psychological research and the analysis of data. It aims to enhance the ability to understand and use various research methods and develop expertise in running statistical analyses. Research design and data analysis involve balancing multiple considerations and cannot be reduced to a simple set of rules. The module will use a variety of methods including lectures, small group discussions, and computing exercises. You are expected to play an active part during the sessions, do such preparatory reading as is recommended, and complete the computing exercises. At the end of the module you should have:
- Developed your grasp of methodology and your understanding of data analysis,
- Enhanced your ability to analyse research papers and formulate research projects, and
- Increased your expertise in running statistical analyses.
