Summary
This module aims to provide an overview of typical and atypical development from the foetal period to the first few months postnatal, including methods of newborn neurodevelopmental assessment, social care structures available to support newborns and families, and other environmental and genetic influences on the newborn. It also aims to develop critical analysis and thinking skills regarding prenatal and newborn health and development.

- Select appropriate methods for assessing newborn babies.
- Suggest appropriate social care resources to parents of newborns.
