Description
Cancer affects one in four of the population and pain is a common symptom. In this module you will look at a translational approach to the assessment and management of pain; from the underlying causative mechanisms, to the patient experience. You will examine the multidimensional and multidisciplinary aspects of the complex interplay of factors involved in the experience of ‘total pain’. You will explore a practical and empirical framework for the management of pain, with emphasis on pain in the growing population of cancer survivors. This insight is instrumental in how to help patients with cancer and in pain by an integrative and individualised framework.
