Description
An important component of the MRes in Brain Science is an empirical research project that constitutes two-thirds of the total number of credits for the programme (120 of a total of 180 credits). The research project will entail a comprehensive and independent piece of research in any area of brain science, usually on a topic of specific interest. Research projects will be supervised by leading investigators in their field of expertise. Students will therefore be exposed to and have the opportunity to experience and contribute to cutting-edge research in a world-class research environment. Students will be provided with a description and project outline of available supervised projects, and will integrate core skills in research acquired through the Research Methods and Skills Training modules with their specific project selection. Assessment of the research project will include a publication-level research article and an oral presentation of project findings. The research project is a key aspect of the programme in preparing students for future research careers in academia, industry or business.
