Description

This module aims to introduce students to four key dimensions of museums, galleries, and heritage learning: (1) central contemporary themes in museums, galleries, and heritage in education (2) histories and theories of institutions, spaces, and objects (3) audiences, identities and the study of cultures, and (4) debates and models of learning, teaching, and education in and for museums, galleries, and heritage. Together, these dimensions will provide students with a framework for analysis of collections, institutions, practices, materials and issues in museum, gallery, and heritage education, and education in the museums, galleries, and heritage sector. Students not enrolled on the MA Museums and Galleries in Education MUST contact the module tutor in the first instance before selecting on Portico.
