Description

Teaching Delivery: This module is taught in 20 bi-weekly lectures and 20 bi-weekly PGTA-led seminars.

°ä´Ç²Ô³Ù±ð²Ô³Ù:ÌýThis module aims to develop students' knowledge of the Latin language, starting from a level comparable to that achieved at the end of the Beginners' course,Ìýor Latin to GCSE standard.ÌýThe module syllabus willÌýcover chapters 8-12 of the Learn to Read Latin Textbook (sections 75-122). It will consolidate students' understanding ofÌýmost grammatical constructions and introduce them to readingÌýsome continuous, original Latin texts. Two of the four classes per week will be split into two groups, each group taught by a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant.

Skills: Students will be trained in translating Latin texts into English and English sentences into Latin, learning vocabulary, Latin grammar and syntax.ÌýBy the end of the module, students will have reached chapter 12 (section 122) of the Learn to Read Latin textbook.
