Description
This module is aimed at an in-depth specialisation of design, growth and fabrication that is accompanied with a substantial written component of 15000 words. The project is developed individually or in groups of max two students. The module is focused on developing an Integrated Research Thesis with a high-level material and biochemical resolution, while implementing intense environmental analysis and some computational simulations. Key importance will also be given to the growth agenda of each project and how this is accomplished in a both controlled environment and outdoors. In addition to regular tuition, each project will rely on the regular input of an external consultant (chosen in Term 4) whose expertise is key to generate scientific data and an innovative piece of bio-integrated work. The overall project will be orally presented at the end of the year with an accompanying final document (almanac or book) and a series of prototypes that will be exhibited in the BPro show in September.
