Description
This module will define integrated early childhood provision from a global perspective. Students will have opportunity to examine debates about integrated provision and to consider comparative models and levels of integration of early education systems, services, policies, and practice. Debate will consider historical and political tensions arising from the interpretations of ‘childcare’ and ‘education’ in differing contexts. Students will evaluate research calling for a paradigm shift to support a unified and unifying early years ECEC system and workforce. Critical comparative analysis will examine case studies and policies of unitary systems embedded in diverse international contexts.Ìý
