Description

This module is for Year 3 BSc L102 single-honours Economics students only. Not open to Affiliate students. It isÌýused to monitor student engagement on a placement, and its links to academic studies, when they are in their placement year. In order to pass the module, students are expected to complete five reflective logs, attend seminars, complete a dissertation proposal and induction checklist.

Aims: to ensure students engage effectively with the placement and are equipped to complete the dissertation proposal. The module has an associated Moodle page that provides information on what students are expected to do during the year to demonstrate engagement with their academic studies and advice on when and how to access support from the Economics Department.

Prerequisites: Students must have completed and passed all 240 credits across Years' 1 and 2. Students must also have satisfactorily completed the not-for-credit modules ECON0097: Economics Skills Lab and ECON0046: Preparation for Placement (Economics). Students must also have secured an unconditional offer of a placement, or met the conditions for a conditional offer, from an approved placement organisation prior to commencing their placement.
